A Sick Lovestory

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

there is no way for me to express my love for TFIOS all i can say is that after reading this for the first, second and third time i was convinced that this is the best book i have ever read.

The Fault in Our Stars is a story about young Hazel Grace, who falls in love with the equally young and handsome Augustus Waters, who is perfect in many ways. Unfortunately this is not your typical story of: Girls meets boy, Girls falls in love, there are some complications, they live happily ever after. because Hazel Grace has been Diagnosed with stage IV thyroid cancer. what follows is the story of how Hazel Grace falls in love with the perfect Augustus Waters only to have it all taken away from her by the uncertainty of living with cancer.

but this is no cancer book. this book does not follow Hazel Grace's fight against cancer, but the complications of living with cancer and trying to find her own meaning amidst it all.

this book is particularly suited for young women, as each page of the book tends to mark the slow but inevitable descent into falling in love with Augustus. maybe not as an potential boyfriend, but as a truly remarkable individual.

But male, female or anything in between or beyond. this book will leave you in tears and with the realization the the world is not a wish granting factory.

i have nothing negative to say about this work of art, maybe except that i is a bit pretentious at times

“What a slut time is. She screws everybody.”
